Editing

The video consists entirely of jumps cuts from one person (celebrity or a random person) to another. This is the overall concept for the video that the people in the picture are continuing the song along the line with each person singing a line or just a few words. The fact that this is the only editing used through the piece is very important to the overall on concept and makes it much more effective.

Camera

The video use a number of shots depending on the situation (the person in that segment of the song) they rang form close up to long shots. The multiple shots help keep the concept of the changing people and situations because in some cases you can better compare them to others if you can see the environment they are in. There is also some use of tracking and panning (again to emphasize the concept). The camera does change at the very end shoeing the band at their concert this also breaks the concept by cutting to the crowd then panning round to the band themselves. The angles are mostly the same either just a straight face on one or high or low angle this also depends on the situations (making the police office seem bigger or making the kids seem smaller) once again the limited use of different angles is key to the concept.

Mise-on-scene

Mise-on-scene is very important to the overall concept of the video. The location is used for a lot of the individuals to reflect who they are as quickly as possible to the viewer so the video can then quick fire you with another person. The costumes are very similar to the location in this aspect and are used to help reflect the person (work uniforms, Bikinis etc) as quickly as possible to the person. The concept relies on the viewer of the video grasping who the vast amount of people in the video are as quickly as possible.

What aspects will I use in my video?

The way the song has cuts at the end of the lines will be used throughout my video but the location will not change (for the most part). Instead I will be using a fixed camera in the same location so that the person in the shot will cut around the screen. The other thing that is being taken from “Rockstar” is the continuation of the song being mimed from shot to shot and also the costumes switch from casual to strange at some points in the video I plan to do this as well.
